As you are using Wordpress I suggest to use a nice plugin like CodeColorer (http://kpumuk.info/projects/wordpress-plugins/codecolorer/) which allows much prettier code with linenumbers and even syntax highlighting. We also wanted a common look and feel across all the blogs. Finally, I at least, very much wanted a search function. Put it all together and Wordpress was the way to go.
